A new author interview with questions & answers about A Spoonful of Promises and my life as a food writer, now posted at Eat Your Books.

The photo was taken at Amherst Books this month, with my EYB friends–co-founder Jane and data manager Deborah–just before we split the party and went out for Vietnamese food.

My dear friend Magda from cooking school (12 years ago!) has a smart and sassy blog about all things Christmas.  Every day, there’s a holiday story from one of her friends and colleagues.  Mine’s up today–a story about sneaking around the house at Christmastime, and, inevitably, about getting caught.

Read it here.

Profile of yours truly in the Amherst Bulletin today!  A nicely composed piece by our own local reporter Nick Grabbe, and some equally nicely composed portraits of me and Zoe by photographer Kevin Gutting.

I especially like the title, which pretty much sums it up…

A Spoonful of Promises,  my first book-child,  officially had its publication day today! (though copies have gradually been sallying forth from the warehouses for a couple of weeks now)

There was even a first, kind review from a colleague at a respected small cookbook firm; the author went so far as to try out the soul cakes recipe! it being the time of year and all.

Spoonful‘s  own author celebrated by taking the whole family to her dad’s assisted living facility to shower.  After three days without power after the freak Halloween storm, this was no small luxury.
